Debating Style
The tournament is run in the British Parliamentary (BP) Style. Each team is comprised of two speakers and there are four teams in each room. Two teams speak for a proposed motion (the Government bench) and two teams speak against it (the Oppostion bench). Each speaker is allocated 7 minutes speaking time, during which speakers are allowed to ask questions, know as Points of Information (POIs), between the first and sixth minute. Teams have 15 minutes to prepare for each debate.
